Getting Ready on Polygon with MATIC

Shroom is coming to Polyon — Let’s get ready for the launch!

As a cross-chain DeFi game, the first chapter of Wonder Game is launching on Polygon Blockchain. As a part of this, we will be launching our native token SHROOM on polygon tomorrow. This article will be a guide for Wonder Game members who mostly come from the ICON and Harmony communities on how to prepare to enter Polygon Chain. This article can be used as a reference for users on how to set Polygon RPC and acquire MATIC.

1. Setting up Metamask for Polygon

i. Download MetaMask and create a 0x address account.

ii. Add Polygon through custom RPC

Network name: Polygon Mainnet
RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com
Chain ID: 137
Currency: MATIC
Explorer: https://polygonscan.com/

2. Go through exchanges to swap ICX to MATIC

Disclaimer: Before starting the process. Be sure ICX, ONE, and MATIC token withdrawals are functioning and not temporarily suspended in the exchanges.

CoinEx

Step 1 — Have an account in Coinex (with 2FA)

After creating an account. Go to Account>Account Settings

Select the 2FA you want to select:

Click on ‘Send Code’, and then enter the Email verification code.

Scan the QR on your Google Authenticator, then enter the verification code from Authenticator and click ‘Next’

(Note: Do not SCAN the QR code from the image)

You’ve now successfully setup 2FA

Step 2 — Send ICX from ICON wallet to Coinex ICX wallet

Go to Assests>Deposit

Select the ICX token (1), then the system provides you an address ‘Deposit To’ (2), send the ICX you want to swap to the ‘Deposit To’ address.

Once you have sent the ICX, CoinEx will automatically detect the transaction.

Step 3 — Exchange ICX/ONE to Matic

Go to the Swap Page, enter the amount of ICX/ONE you want to swap, and CoinEx will show the no. of Matic you can swap ICX/ONE for.

Step 4 — Withdraw Matic to your Metamask wallet

Go to Assets>Withdraw

Select Matic on 1, then enter your Metamask address on which you want to withdraw (2).

Step 5 — Confirm Transaction

Binance and KUCoin is also an option but for the team, CoinEx is the easiest one.
